Maduka University has finalized preparations for its first-semester Computer-Based
Testing (CBT) examinations, scheduled to commence on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Chairman of the university’s ICT Committee, Mr. Onuoha Thomas, expressed
satisfaction with the mock test conducted on February 24, which was aimed at
assessing the functionality of the CBT software. “It was the best CBT examination we
have had in the university,” he said. However, he noted that some students
experienced login issues due to forgotten emails. He assured that new login
credentials would be assigned to affected students before the main exams.
To ensure a seamless examination process, the ICT Committee will hold a final
review meeting and has already forwarded additional software improvement requests
to RAADAR, the software provider. Mr. Yannick Chigozie from the ICT Department
commended the success of the mock test but emphasized the need for standby power
supply and an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to enhance system stability.
Speaking on the logistics, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP), Dr. Ihenacho
Emeka, disclosed that over 500 second-year students participated in the mock test,
which was conducted in three out of five designated halls. He confirmed that the
upcoming first-semester exams would also take place in three halls at the university’s
CBT Centre.
As the examination dates draw closer, students have expressed confidence in the CBT
system. Stephanie Ani, a 100-level Nursing student, shared her optimism. “The 200-
level students who had the mock test said it was fine, so I’m hopeful,” she said, adding
that she is preparing by studying and attending online classes. Similarly, Goodluck
Onwe, a 200-level Law student, stated that he is focused on studying and attending
lectures in readiness for the exams.
With thorough planning and necessary improvements underway, Maduka University
remains committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient examination process.
