Maduka University has officially resumed academic activities following the Christmas and
New Year holiday break. The institution’s serene campus in Ekwegbe-Nsukka came alive on
Monday, as students and staff returned to kick off the second half of the first semester with
enthusiasm.
The resumption comes as the university continues its drive to maintain academic excellence,
with several innovative programmes scheduled for the rest of the semester. Speaking to
journalists, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ogbulogo, welcomed students back and
urged them to approach the rest of the semester with diligence and focus.
“We are committed to ensuring an enriching academic experience for all our students. I
encourage everyone to take advantage of the resources we have provided to excel in their
studies,” Professor Ogbulogo stated.
Students across various departments were seen reuniting with friends, preparing for lectures,
and settling into the rhythm of campus life. Many expressed excitement about returning to
school. “I’m happy to be back. I’m looking forward to concluding my courses in Drama, Film
, Documentary Production, and public relations,” said Favour Nwachukwu, a second-year
Mass Communication student.
The university has also outlined several programmes to enhance student learning and
professional development. These include industry workshops, guest lectures, and academic
conferences. Notably, the Department of Mass Communication is set to host a series of
lectures on contemporary media trends, featuring prominent guest speakers.
Meanwhile, the institution’s management assured the campus community of its readiness to
provide a conducive learning environment. The university has implemented new security
measures and embarked on upgrading campus facilities to provide a safe and comfortable
environment for everyone.
As the new semester begins, Maduka University’s leadership remains committed to its
